2021 - A New Year of Ministry

by Pastor Chris Hinckley

Dear friend of Double Harvest,

I hope this update finds you safe and well as we begin the new year. The year 2020 was challenging on many levels but our God is faithful and His lovingkindness never fails. Through your support and prayers, Double Harvest is continuing to “sow seeds of life” in the country of Haiti. Our staff in Haiti continues to serve the great mission of DH even during the most difficult circumstances.  Please continue to pray for the safety and well-being of our farm, school, church and medical clinic. COVID-19 has presented many challenges but we know that our God is sovereign and will work all things for good for those who love God and care called according to His purpose.  We are currently working on updating our website, contact management system and communications in order to serve the mission and connect with our supporters. Thank you for your patience with our back office while we undergo our systems conversion. If your donation seems to be taking a while to get to us it may be due to problems with the postal service. Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns.

Double Harvest School – We are grateful to the many Sponsors of the students attending the Double Harvest School in Haiti! A contribution of $45/month ($540/year links a sponsor with a student. The school at DH resumed classes for the 2020-2021 school year on November 9. The school photos have been taken by our Haitian staff and are currently being processed for mailing.

Medical – From its inception in Haiti, Double Harvest has included a Medical Clinic to minister to the many health needs present in a developing country. Unfortunately, our medical teams are unable to travel to DH to help the huge backlog of patients that need to be treated. Would you pray that 2021 will see a return of our wonderful medical teams? Dr. Peter and his staff are doing an amazing job. In collaboration with a Bridge of Life the community health workers are getting in the communities to provide medicine, primary and education concerning COVID-19.

Church - Eglise Baptist Evangeique church celebrated their 25th  anniversary with the dedication of a brand new church building on the grounds of Double Harvest. Praise the Lord for His goodness. Please continue to pray for pastor Garry and the body of Christ in Haiti.

Economy - With the political situation already tense, the Haitian government took steps to devalue the US dollar which means that our support in US dollars translates to less gourdes for our worker in Haiti. This is a terrible situation. Inflation is still high and products are still expensive only now those earning US support have seen their salaries cut at least 40%.  Please pray for the political and economic situation to improve. The people are getting desperate and discouraged. Your prayers and financial support are NEEDED NOW MORE THAN EVER. God bless you and pray you stay healthy and safe.
