Haiti Update - March 2019

by Pastor Chris Hinckley

Double Harvest exists to meet urgent spiritual and physical need in Haiti. We seek to do this by establishing and resourcing various projects related to agriculture, education, medical services and clean water projects. The foundation to all our endeavors is the gospel of Jesus Christ and His church. The truth that God loved us and sent His Son to die for us compels our love for Him and our love for others. Furthermore, all our efforts are undergirded in fervent prayer.

Prayer demonstrates our dependence on God to do abundantly beyond all we can ask or think.

Thank you for praying for Double Harvest and the people of Haiti. By the grace of God, the recent political unrest and rioting in Haiti has quieted down. We praise the Lord that the medical clinic, school and church seem to be returning to normal operations.  Still, we ask for your continued prayers for peace as several medical teams have canceled their trips due to US travel warnings.

I had the joy of traveling to California this month for the Shepherds Conference hosted by Grace Community Church and Pastor John MacArthur. It was great to fellowship with Pastor Garry, from Double Harvest, along with 4,500 other pastors and church leaders from all 50 states and 60 countries. The weeklong conference was a tremendous time of renewal and refreshment. Pastor Garry and I had the opportunity to worship together, share meals together as well as rest in God's sovereign grace. We met with other leaders to discuss the continuing theological training of men in Haiti. Our prayer and desire is for God to raise up more faithful shepherds of his church in Haiti. "The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore, pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest". - Luke 10:2

Thank you for your faithful prayers and support of Double Harvest ministries. May the Lord be pleased to use our offerings to gather a harvest for all eternity.
