Eden Keepers Farm
Home for Eden Keepers Farms is one hundred virgin acres of land leased from the Village of Pisak. Fourteen miles from Yei, bordered on the east side by a small river and to the west and north surrounded by small peasant plots, this location provides an ideal opportunity to model modern, productive farming. First a mile and a half of access road had to be hacked out of the six foot tall elephant grass to a small clearing by the river. Four tukals (mud and manure huts) were built along with a greenhouse, storage sheds and an outdoor kitchen. Two shipping containers provided storage for the farm equipment. Fifteen acres were cleared, the land plowed and the first crops planted. Water tower was constructed and the sand filters and pump set up by the river bank. A well for drinking water was put in by Bass Brothers of Space Project Ltd to provide water for the compound and the surrounding villages.
